Ferguson Reid, and Eva Scott..Cordel Faulk is the commentary editor for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Stephen Adkins is the Chief of Virginia's Chickahominy Indian Tribe. Paul Harris is a former representative of the 58th district to Virginia's House of Delegates. Dr. W. Ferguson Reid was the first African American elected to the Virginia General Assembly since Reconstruction. Eva Scott became the first female senator in Virginia's General Assembly in 1979 as a republican from Amelia County..The University of Virginia's Center for Politics, founded in 1998 by Professor Larry Sabato, hosted the 11th annual Virginia Political History Project open house at Montesano on the Grounds of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA on June 6 and 7, 2008.
